Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how HomeSafe Companion Ltd ("we", "us") handles personal information in the HomeSafe Carer mobile app and its companion service HomeSafe UK (together, "the service"). We are based in the United Kingdom and the service is operated under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

1. Who this policy applies to

Two kinds of people use the service: the loved one (typically an older adult who installs HomeSafe UK on their own phone) and one or more carers (family members or paid carers who install HomeSafe Carer to stay in touch). This policy covers both.

2. What we collect

The loved one decides what to enter in their HomeSafe UK profile. That data can include:

When a carer joins a family via HomeSafe Carer, we also store:

3. What we do NOT collect

4. How we use what we collect

We use the loved one's profile only to display it inside the carer app so that family members can see who they are connected to, reach the right phone numbers, and act quickly in an emergency. Carer device identifiers are used only to make sure the same carer is not added to the same family twice when they reinstall the app or update its version.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, ever.

5. Where data is stored

Profiles and family records are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database hosted by Render Inc., in their EU region, encrypted at rest. Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We keep one daily encrypted backup for thirty days and then delete it.

6. How long we keep data

A loved one profile remains in our database as long as at least one carer is connected to it. If every carer disconnects and the loved one deletes their HomeSafe UK profile, the record is removed within thirty days. You can request earlier deletion at any time using the contact email below.

7. Sharing with third parties

We only share personal data with:

We do not share data with advertisers, data brokers, or for AI training.

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below. We respond within thirty days.

9. Children

HomeSafe Carer is not designed for, or directed at, children under thirteen. Loved ones using HomeSafe UK are expected to be adults capable of consenting to share their information. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the service, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, notify connected carers inside the app the next time they open it.
